De Bono Thinking Hats “This Week We Ate a Rainbow “Activities site encourages children to eat foods in a rainbow of colors each day. I loved the exercise cubes since they encourage kids to do different activities. My students would enjoy using them as well!! Kids would really enjoy the book about broccoli. “Verb Relay Race” gets kids up and moving. Kindergarteners are usually inexperienced with going to the cafeteria so this site offers helpful resources to get them started. Red light, Green light, Eat right helps kids understand what they need to eat. Your text to accompany the slides helps the PowerPoint to move along.
Prezi Your prezi includes the De Bono Thinking Hat at the beginning, which starts off with a great focus. You followed that with three videos… teams of junk food versus healthy food, moving as well as eating, and healthy exercise habits. I do wish that the healthy exercise video had music with the work out since I think that students really respond to musical content with movement. I think that your final pictures work to summarize the whole prezi. Thanks for sharing these resources. Ted Ed Your healthy habits lesson begins with the Chef Solus video that has junk food playing a game against healthy food. It was a great way to start the lesson with a fun video that really gets the kids interested. You followed that with questions that check to see if the children or adults were paying attention to the video. The Dig Deeper portion of the lesson takes viewers to Michelle Obama’s “Let’s Move” interactive site with information from gardening to recipes and much more. You also have the “Kids Health” site, which also is filled with lots of information that promotes health and healthy eating. Both sites are geared for parents and students and provide oodles of great information. You have included an Essential Question as your discussion focus that will make student think before responding and your final picture ties everything together. Great job.
I love your prezi! I think it looks so organized, clean, but very appealing and cute! I especially liked your de Bono activities. You are very creative, and I love how relevant and engaging you make content for your kindergarten students! I can tell you put a lot of hard work into your prezi and that you really understand how to use this resource! Excellent job!
Great job on your Prezi! I loved the song and the video clip of the unhealthy vs. the healthy team. The presentation was very appealing and your students would love it! It was very easy to follow!
